The Project

To redesign the a planner for Cancer101, a NYC based nonprofit committed to developing empowerment tools for those touched by cancer. The goal of the cancer planner was to make a tool for people diagnosed with cancer and their care partners that they wanted to use. We wanted the planner to be friendly and approachable and stand apart from the many medical sheets that one receives when dealing with illness.

The Process

During this two year project, I owned the entire creative cycle, from ideation to execution. I worked directly with Cancer101’s executive director to implement feedback from 101 patients and their care partners, as well as healthcare professionals, patient educators, illustrators, information designers, and health literacy experts.

The Results

The end result is a planner designed to help you keep track of your health and better manage and coordinate your cancer care. It includes motivational illustrations, patient and care partner stories, infographics and templates. 98% of user said the planner helped me better understand my cancer.
